Shigin-Kembu means “sword dancing to chanted Japanese poetry”. The Federation was established in April 1951 by enthusiasts of this field of study in Toyama prefecture. Currently, it is a group of around 2,400 people from the Shigin (chanting poems) 5 school and the Kenshibu (sword dancing to poems) 5 school.
